Normally this is a blog for my radio program, with occasional current event content and commentary.
This post will be more the latter. π
Our 17 year old cat, Skex, is scratching at the door because he wants in. He had been being quite good for months this winter and not peed in the house. This week I got a throw rug for the living room and yesterday, a nice sunny afternoon, when we got home from town and let him back inside the first thing he did was pee on the rug.
So now we can't trust him again . The weather is warming and he's okay outside but I miss sitting drinking my morning coffee with him.
There was a large turn out yesterday for the no kings rally. The unifying motivater is disapproval and disgust with the current government on dozens of topics, as far as I can tell. People coming together to show their willingness to say no to this administration is hopeful. With caveats....π€ͺπππΊπ‘
On one hand so much damage has been done that there will be no going back to a comfortable normal many people wish for. The distrust of elections will become so prevalent on all sides that the nation as we knew it may not survive. Eliminating Electronic voting is the only way I see of removing easy fraud. Tech folk will always look for a backdoor failsafe/cheat code.
AI will probably determine our future if we let it and we can't seem to stop ourselves from inventing new ways to destroy each other and the planet. The systems we depend on may more fragile than we know.
The apocalyptic visions of the future that we have grown up imagining are not necessarily a road map, some are meant to be a warning.π€ͺπ¬π΅π«π€
