HAVE A FABULOUS SOULSTICE! the turning is here.

..and... next week the show will air the day after the arbitrarily adopted date for the xmas holiday. As is frequently the case,,,I'm still working on possible themes for it. If you've got a thought, please share it!

We got got our electricity back on Wednesday evening! After 6 days without, it was interesting how long it took to get used to having it again. I'm so glad we bought a generator a couple years ago. I've used up alot more money and firewood that I had planned to so I'll need to get more of that next month. Thinking that a winning lottery ticket will be coming my way very soon. And now I'm back to firing pottery for gifts, just in time for the official event!

Adventures in the Dark

Still in the dark after 3 days but set up well enough to keep going for a while longer. I sure would like to shower tho. Our power went out Thurday night and our phone was out for the last couple days too. Just got it back on. We rescued our friend Gail Trembly from her cold house yesterday and she spent the day with us. Her power came back on last night. I don't expect to have power for another day or 2 here but I've got the generator on for a little while and decided to go on line for a bit.

Now on to Important matters. If KAOS has power again by Tuueday night I intend to present a "Saved by the Bells" kaosinwonderland theme set on Dancing in Circles. The station lost power Thurday night also and I still can't hear them from my house but I've been told they are back on the air.

We've got the wood stove fired up, the propane heater in the greenhouse and a camp stove so everythings just a fine winter adventure for now. I might not get all of my christmas presents fired in time but, what the hell.

Any musical ideas from you would be welcome! See ya on the radio!

SPLAT!

Perhaps it won't be so cold and clear after all. But it is without a doubt a FULL MOON.

I'm still working on a theme for tonights show. Too much crap on my mind/ too much stress about money/ too much stress about my relationships/ and overall panic about the upcoming three weeks to get averything together and get a job, which doesn't seem to be happening, trying to make presents and sell pottery and not thro up my hands and run away from everything. ................................SPLAT!

Does anyone else feel this way this week?

I think I'll have a drink.

another full moon show

Tuesday will be a full moon show of some kind. Cold and Clear perhaps. I'm thinkin of playing some of Roy Harper's Greenman which I recently bought, and some of the Robin Williamson's re-issue of
"a Glint at the Kindling".

Have not yet decided what the KOAS in WONDERLAND set will be.
Looks like I will not be subbing on DarkWooodsCasinoParty this week so I can concentrate just on one show, which is a probably good thing.

and now for some news

Scientists suggest iPod safe volume levels
Source: UPI COVINGTON, Ky. (UPI) -- U.S. scientists are issuing guidelines on safe volume levels for listening to the Apple iPod portable music player with earphones. The hearing researchers are to present the first-ever detailed guidelines on safe volume levels for listening to the Apple iPod Thursday in Covington, Ky., during a national meeting devoted to preventing and understanding noise-released hearing loss in younger people. Audiologists Brian Fligor of the Harvard Medical School; Terri Ives of the PCO School of Audiology in Elkins Park, Pa.; and audiology doctoral candidate Cory Portnuff of the University of Colorado-Boulder estimate a typical person could safely listen to the iPod for 4.6 hours at 70 percent of full volume using the supplied earphones without greatly increasing the risk of hearing loss. However, the researchers say listening to music at full volume for more than 5 minutes per day through stock earphones could increase the risk of hearing loss in a typical person. The guidelines, the scientists said, apply in general to other music players as well.

So my recomendation is, don't be an idiot; Turn on your radio and turn it up till it hurts, then turn it back down till it feels just right. But use some care when listening thru those freakin' earphones! Eardrummers don't usually grow back.

Now, back to your regular program.
